What appeared to be a wire cutter escaped from the tool caddy of spacewalker Scott Parazynski and was spotted zipping below linked shuttle Discovery and the International Space Station.
The joined crews of the spacecraft are attempting to track the lost tool, which was seen in the vacinity of the Soyuz emergency life boat parked at the station.
Parazynski and spacewalking partner Douglas Wheelock are doing an inventory of their tool caddies in an attempt to figure out what might have been lost.
