Photo recap: shuttle orbital gymnastics














Discovery mission commander Pam Melroy piloted the shuttle on a 360-degree backflip so that colleagues on the International Space Station could photograph the underside of the orbiter with high-resolution digital cameras.

Click to enlarge and save the NASA TV screen grabs that show Discovery during different stages of the nine-minute maneuver, which was performed 600 feet directly below the station with Earth serving as a backdrop an estimated 220 miles below.
