Live in orbit: Astronauts snatch broken antenna

Working on a truss segment high above the International Space Station, spacewalkers Scott Parazynski and Douglas Wheelock unbolted a broken radio communications satellite and now are preparing to haul it to shuttle Discovery's cargo bay for a return to Earth.

A power-grip pistol tool was used to remove two bolts holding the antenna to the Z-1 truss, which towers above the U.S. Unity module.

Now anchored on the end of the station's 57.5-foot robot arm, Wheelock will ride down to the shuttle's cargo bay and stow the antenna. Discovery mission specialist Stephanie Wilson and station flight engineer Dan Tani are operating the Canadian-built Remote Manipulator System.
