Live in orbit: 2nd spacewalk under way at ISS

NASA astronauts Scott Parazynski and Dan Tani switched their spacesuits to battery power at 5:32 a.m. EDT, officially marking the start of the second of five spacewalks planned during shuttle Discovery's ongoing stay at the International Space Station.

The circular hatch of the tunnel-like crew lock of the Quest airlock is open and the astronauts are preparing to exit the station. Tani will be the first out of the hatch. Parazynski will follow. The first order of business will be checking braided steel safety tethers and gathering up tools for what is expected to be a 6.5-hour excursion.
