Florida Today photographer Michael R. Brown snapped this shot of the barge carrying the space shuttle fuel tank as it entered Port Canaveral earlier today, then made its painstaking maneuver through the locks with the help of tugboats. Bill and Pat Maurer of Cape Canaveral brought their lunch and chairs to the port and watched it float by. The barge is now on its way through the inland waters, aiming to arrive at the turn basin at Kennedy Space Center late this afternoon. The tank could be unloaded early this evening and transported to the Vehicle Assembly Building, to be processed for a May launch.
