Commercial spaceflight tops talks at meeting today
Representatives from Kennedy Space Center, Space Florida and four companies have gathered in Cocoa Beach this morning to discuss plans for local commercial spaceflight operations.
The panel is part of SunComm 2011, a conference hosted by the Armed Forces Communications and Electronics Association at the Cocoa Beach Hilton Oceanfront.
"KSC is being compelled to reinvent itself," said Joyce Riquelme, manager of the Center Planning and Development Office.
Participating companies include ATK, The Boeing Co., Masten Space Systems and SpaceX.
