NASA has confirmed May 16 as the earliest date Endeavour will launch.
A launch to the International Space Station that Monday would be planned at 8:56 a.m. EDT.
The mission now scheduled to last 16 days would have a first landing opportunity at Kennedy Spcae Center around 2:30 a.m. June 1.
A news conference to discuss the launch status has been scheduled for 3 p.m. Monday (corrected) at KSC.
Technicians will continue working through the weekend to prevent an electrical short that scrubbed an April 29 launch attempt.
They'll install new wiring between a power distribution box and fuel line heaters to bypass suspect wiring. And they'll continue testing systems hooked up to a replacement switchbox.
Progress will be assessed Monday and the 16th could be confirmed as a launch date or a new one set.
