The first of two planned spacewalks to repair a critical International Space Station coolant system could be delayed from Friday to Saturday, NASA says.
Jim Kelly, an astronaut communicating with the crew from Houston, radioed the the news to spacewalkers Doug Wheelock and Tracy Caldwell Dyson around 9:20 a.m. EDT today.
Mission managers think more time may be needed to finalize procedures and timelines for the spacewalk, which will begin to remove and replace a failed ammonia pump that serves half the statoin's coolant system.
A decision is expected later today.
