Stormy Weather Prompts SpaceX To Put Off Engine Test

BLOGGER UPDATE, 3:45 P.M.: We've been told the stormy weather has prompted SpaceX to put off its Falcon 9 "hot fire" to another day. No word on when it might be rescheduled but the assumption is that the next opportunity would be Friday during the same window.

BLOGGER NOTE, 1:07 P.M.: One would think SpaceX would be "no-go" today for optics if nothing else. In other words, one would think the company would want cameras at the launch complex to be able to clearly record a "hot-fire."

This just in: SpaceX might try again today to test-fire the nine Merlin 1C engines on the first stage of its Falcon 9 rocket at Cape Canaveral Air Force Station. Officials, however, are putting an emphasis on the word "might." The window for the test would be about the same as it was Tuesday -- opening at 1 p.m. for four hours. But as you can see from the still image aboves, the weather almost certainly will be a factor. It's been raining at the Cape and conditions at Launch Complex 40 are less than desirable. Stay tuned.
