Discovery's astronauts will stay in orbit at least another orbit as a result of windy weather and cloud cover over the shuttle landing strip at Kennedy Space Center.
"Discovery, Houston. Here's the big picture on the weather," NASA astronaut George Zamka radioed up to the crew from Mission Control in Houston.
"Things are still somewhat variable. But a trend we saw that we're not comfortable with was a layer at 3,000 feet, clouds roughly the bottoms at about 2,700 feet up to about 4,000 that was moving east, from the west, into the area," he said.
"We just didn't like that. also the winds have been variable in exceeding the crosswind limits. We think both those things, we have a good chance of looking better for our second opportunity today."
The second opportunity to land will come at 3:14 p.m.
