Fueling of space shuttle Discovery is complete, putting seven astronauts on track for a 7:43 p.m. liftoff from Kennedy Space Center.
A problem during fueling of more than 500,000 gallons of super-cold liquid hydrogen and liquid oxygen scrubbed a first launch attempt Wednesday.
But after replacing a valve that routes hydrogen gas from the shuttle's orange external tank to a flare stack on the ground, the process proceeded smoothly today.
A final inspection team is headed to Launch Pad 39A. Also called the "ice team," its job is to thoroughly examine the internal tank for ice build-up that could be dangerous during launch.
The countdown is in a standard hold at T minus three hours, scheduled to last until 3:48 p.m.
Upcoming activities include alignment of Merritt Islan Launch Area tracking antennas.
