Up to 20 United Launch Alliance workers from Cape Canaveral will travel to California for Tuesday's launch of the WorldView-1 satellite.
The launch aboard a Delta 2 rocket will take place from Space Launch Complex 2 at Vandenberg Air Force Base, Calif., with a launch window extending from 2:35 to 2:49 p.m. EDT.
The WorldView-1 satellite will provide commercial, high-resolution images of Earth for DigitalGlobe, which specializes in global commercial Earth imagery and geospatial information.
WorldView-1 is capable of collecting, storing and down-linking more frequently updated imagery than any other commercial imaging satellite in orbit.
Boeing Launch Services procured the launch vehicle and associated support services from United Launch Alliance. A Delta II 7920-10 configuration launch vehicle is expected to deploy the WorldView spacecraft approximately 1 hour and 13 minutes after liftoff.
