The countdown to the planned 7:20 a.m. launch of a Delta 2 rocket and NASA's Dawn spacecraft has entered a planned hold at T-Minus 15 minutes. The built-in hold is one of two that are purposely put in a Delta 2 countdown to enable engineers to catch up with any prelaunch checkouts or deal with any technical problems.
No problems are being tracked at this time, and the weather appears as if it will cooperate with launch plans.
Engineers entered the 20-minute hold at about 6:35 a.m. The countdown will pick up again at about 6:55 a.m. and clocks will tick down to T-Minus 4 minutes. Countdown clocks at that point will come to a stop for a final, 10-minute hold. Then the final countdown will pick up about 7:16 a.m. for the 7:20 a.m. launch.
