Gov. Scott, cabinet set for space meeting and tour

After a 7:30 a.m. breakfast at Steve's Family Diner in Titusville, Florida Gov. Rick Scott today was scheduled to hold a 9 a.m. cabinet meeting at the Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex.

At 11 a.m., the governor and cabinet plan to host a roundtable with space industry executives from companies including ATK, SpaceX and United Space Alliance.

At 1 p.m., the elected officials plan to board a bus for a tour of Kennedy Space Center and Cape Canaveral Air Force Station sites, likely including the Operations and Checkout Building and SpaceX's Launch Complex 40.

Both have received state support for renovations or additions.

Another stop today may include Rockledge-based start-up Rivian Automotive, which has received about $1.5 million in investment from Space Florida.
