Atlantis mission commander Chris Ferguson, pilot Doug Hurley and mission specialists Sandy Magnus and Rex Walheim are visiting for several days of prelaunch training known as the Terminal Countdown Demonstration Test.

The crew took off at 2:50 p.m. EDT from Ellington Field near Johnson Space Center in Houston and stopped in Mobile, Ala., to refuel.

Atlantis is targeted to blast off July 8 on the shuttle program's 135th and final flight.
