Endeavour mission specialist Mike Fincke is answering to the radio call sign "EV-2," but you might also hear his crewmates refer to him as "Spanky."
Fincke is so dubbed because of his resemblance to George "Spanky" McFarland, the child actor most famous for his appearances in the "Our Gang" series of short-subject comedies of the 1930s and 1940s. The "Our Gang" comedies were later syndicated to television as "The Little Rascals."
Fincke is making his eighth career spacewalk. He performed four excursions as a member of the Expedition 9 crew; two as commander of the Expedition 18 crew; and one previous walk during the Endeavour mission.
