Cosmonauts ready for work outside station

Two Russian cosmonauts today plan to work outside the International Space Station, their second spacewalk in a month.

Expedition 26 Flight Engineers Dmitry Kondratyev and Oleg Skripochka are scheduled to exit the outpost's Pirs airlock at 8:15 a.m. EST to begin a nearly six-hour excursion.

Dressed in Orlan spacesuits, the duo plans to install and retrieve two sets of experiments and deploy a small ham radio satellite carrying messages celebrating the 50th anniversary this April of the first human spaceflight by Yuri Gagarin.

Watch live NASA TV coverage of the spacewalk, the 28th by Russians supporting station assembly and maintenance, here beginning at 7:45 a.m. EST.
