USA TODAY Rolls Out Panoramic Tribute To Shuttle Discovery

Digital designers at our sister paper USA TODAY have created a panoramic tribute to shuttle Discovery on the eve of its final flight.

The beautiful graphics give viewers an all-around look at Discovery as it was being lifted inside the Kennedy Space Center Vehicle Assembly Building so it could be mated with an external tank with attached solid rocket boosters.

And there also are great panoramas of the fully assembled shuttle Discovery on oceanside launch pad 39A, where the spaceship and six astronauts are scheduled to blast off next Monday at 4:40 p.m.

Thanks to USA TODAY multimedia producer Julia Schmalz for sending us a link to these:

Discovery Panoramas.

Take a moment and check them out.
