ULA rocket launch delayed until Nov. 5

A United Launch Alliance Delta IV Heavy scheduled to launch Oct. 19 has been pushed back to Nov. 5.

The rocket will launch from Cape Canaveral Air Force Station.

Because it is a National Reconnaissance Office mission, details such as the launch window and the spacecraft's destination are not being released.

Since they can't announce the launch window, or anything else, wonder why they bother to tell us the proposed launch date?

This delay was announced about ten days ago, to Nov 4 and now 5.

I'm going to take a wild stab here and say the desitination is Earth Orbit, but you never know.

We at ULA do not plan to launch the SBIRS payload in January either, per your launch forecast on the right.

These are the kind of news stories that make it onto the late night talk shows. Too funny

(Grew up in Brevard with a Titan Program father where everything WAS really top secret. Special phone calls were received at home only 30 or so minutes before the launch.)
