Shuttle Atlantis' six astronauts just spent a few minutes taking photos and exchanging hugs and handshakes with their colleagues on the International Space Station.
The crews are now working to close the hatch in preparation for the shuttle leaving the station, likely the vehicle's last trip there.
"Thank you for an excellent job," Station Commander Oleg Kotov told Atlantis Commander Kevin Ham and his team. "We enjoyed working with you."
The final farewell took place in the Harmony module, the connecting point between the space station and the shuttle.
The Atlantis astronauts were wearing blue shirts while the station's six residents were wearing crimson shirts.
"We're going to be closing the hatch shortly and of course it'll be a little sad, but we'll see you all on planet Earth soon," Ham said.
The shuttle is expected to undock from the station at 11:22 a.m. It's scheduled to return to Kennedy Space Center on Wednesday morning.
