Endeavour crew hosts Q&A at launch pad

Starting their second of three days of pre-launch training at Kennedy Space Center, Endeavour astronauts this morning will take time to answer some questions from reporters at launch pad 39A.

Led by mission commander George Zamka, the crew also includes pilot Terry Virts and mission specialists Bob Behnken, Kay Hire, Nicholas Patrick and Steve Robinson.

Their 13-day mission, the year's first, is targeted to launch at 4:39 a.m. Feb. 7.

While out at the pad today, the astronauts will review procedures for escaping the 195-foot level via slide wire baskets that would whisk them to the ground.

They'll also do a "walkdown" of Endeavour's payload bay, examining the newly installed Tranquility module with its attached cupola.

After a countdown dress rehearsal Thursday morning, the crew plans to depart for Houston on Friday.
