Watch It Live: Shuttle Status Briefing On Tap

NASA will hold a status briefing on the stalled countdown to the launch of shuttle Discovery at 4:30 p.m., and you can watch it live in The Flame Trench.

NASA Mission Management Team Chairman Mike Moses and NASA STS-128 Shuttle Launch Director Pete Nickolenko will brief reporters on a series of tests to a suspect main propulsion system valve that triggered a launch scrub earlier this week.

NASA is skipping a 12:22 a.m. Friday launch opportunity and instead targeting an opportunity at 11:59 p.m. to give engineers more time to develop a strategy for dealing with any repeat of the sensor failure during propellant-loading operations.

The briefing will be held in the news auditorium here at the Launch Complex 39 Press Site. Click the NASA TV box on the right side of the page to launch our NASA TV viewer and live coverage. Be sure to refresh this page, too, for periodic updates.
