Watch Live: Astronauts To Hold News Conference

Blogger Update: The STS-127 crew will hold a post-landing news briefing at 3 p.m. You can watch it live here in The Flame Trench. Simply click the NASA TV box on the right to launch our NASA TV Viewer.

The Endeavour astronauts have climbed out of the side hatch of their spaceship and into a crew transport vehicle that is identical to the type of "people movers" seen at Washington Dulles International and other airports around the globe.

Led by veteran mission commander Mark Polansky, the astronauts are undergoing preliminary post-flight medical examinations but soon will be stepping out onto the runway here at Kennedy Space Center to kick the orbiter tires and inspect the thousands of thermal tiles that cover the belly of the spaceship.

Polansky is expected to step up to a microphone and offer a few words. A news conference also is coming up at about 1 p.m.

You can watch both here in The Flame Trench. Simply click the NASA TV box on the right side of the page to launch our NASA TV viewer and be sure to refresh this page for periodic updates.
