NASA To Preview STS-126 Mission Today

Today at Johnson Space Center in Houston, NASA will preview the STS-126 mission scheduled to launch Nov. 14 from Cape Canaveral.

Coverage starts at 8 a.m. with video footage related to the 15-day mission to the International Space Station, and the briefings start at 9 a.m.

You'll learn more about the mission's goals and the details of four planned spacewalks, and get to know the seven-member crew.

The crew, which visited Kennedy Space Center last week for countdown training, includes: Commander Chris Ferguson, Pilot Eric Boe and mission specialists Donald Pettit, Steve Bowen, Heidemarie Stefanyshyn-Piper, Shane Kimbrough, and Sandra Magnus.

Flying shuttle Endeavour, they'll carry furnishings and a water recycling system that will pave the way for six-person crews on the station. They'll also attempt to repair a damaged joint that rotates solar wings on the station's right side.
