Blogger Update: The Soyuz spacecraft undocked from the International Space Station at 8:16 p.m. EDT, heading toward an atmospheric reentry and landing on the central steppes of Kazakhstan at 11:36 p.m.A Russian Soyuz spacecraft carrying two cosmonauts and an American space tourist will be departing the International Space Station this hour, heading off to a planned atmospheric reentry and landing in Kazakhstan.
Expedition 17 commander Sergei Volkov and flight engineer Oleg Kononenko have a go to undock from the outpost on-time at 8:15 p.m. EDT. Multimillionaire video game designer Richard Garriott is return to Earth with them.

The Soyuz spacecraft will move to a point about 12 miles away from the international outpost before a planned 10:44 p.m. deorbit burn. Landing is scheduled at 11:36 p.m.
Here, from left to right, are Richard Garriott, Sergei Volkov and Oleg Kononenko.Volkov and Garriott are both second-generation space travelers. Volkov is the son of retired Russian cosmonaut Alexander Volkov. Garriott is the son of retired U.S. Skylab and shuttle astronaut Owen Garriott.
They are the first second-generation space travelers to journey together in space.
