Live from Baikonur: Launch at 3:01 a.m.

The final stages of launch preparations are continuing at Baikonur Cosmodrome in Kazakhstan and classical music is being piped into the Soyuz rocket as its crew goes through prelaunch checklists.

American astronaut Michael Fincke, Russian cosmonaut Yury Lonchakov and space tourist Richard Garriott remain scheduled for blast off at 3:01 a.m. EDT, the weather still looks good and no technical problems have been reported.

Liftoff is being precisely timed to put the Soyuz and its crew on course for a docking Tuesday at the International Space Station. Arrival time: 4:38 a.m. EDT.

Now on the space station are current commander Sergei Volkov and flight engineers Oleg Kononenko and Gregory Chamitoff. The station will be passing 220 miles above South America at launch time.
