Endeavour's crew this morning is scheduled to answer questions from reporters at launch pad 39A. You can watch live coverage of the 8:30 a.m. event here at The Flame Trench by clicking on the NASA TV viewer on the right side of the page.
The crew, led by Commander Chris Ferguson, is at Kennedy Space Center to rehearse a launch countdown that is now planned for Nov. 14. NASA plans to announce an official launch date Thursday evening.
The crew is also practicing emergency launch pad escape procedures, and shuttle landings using modified jets.
Joining Ferguson for the media Q&A will be Pilot Eric Boe and mission specialists Steve Bowen, Shane Kimbrough, Sandra Magnus, Don Pettit and Heidemarie Stefanyshyn-Piper.
Ferguson and Stefanyshyn-Piper flew together on STS-115 in September 2006, on Atlantis.
Magnus flew on STS-112 in October 2002, also on Atlantis. Pettit spent more than 160 days in orbit as a science officer on the International Space Station's Expedition 6 crew in 2002-03, launching on Endeavour in November 2002.
Boe, Bowen and Kimbrough are first-time flyers.
Endeavour's mission will outfit the station so it can support crews of six people - double the normal size - starting next spring.
IMAGE NOTE: On Oct. 23, shuttle Endeavour rolled around to launch pad 39A from launch Pad 39B. The shuttle moved off Launch Pad 39B starting at 8:28 am. EDT and completed its move to Launch Pad 39A at 4:37 p.m. Endeavour is targeted to launch Nov. 14 on the STS-126 mission. On this 27th mission to the International Space Station, Endeavour will carry the Lightweight Multi-Purpose Experiment Support Structure Carrier and the Multi-Purpose Logistics Module Leonardo that will hold supplies and equipment, including additional crew quarters, additional exercise equipment, spare hardware and equipment for the regenerative life support system.
