Progress arrives overnight at space station

A Christmas sleigh arrived a few minutes ahead of scheduled overnight at the International Space Station in the form of a cargo freighter bearing food, water, supplies and gifts for the three-person crew.

A Russian Progress cargo freighter delivered two and a half tons of food, water and other supplies. The ship docked automatically at 3:14 a.m. Today. The delivery ship was launched aboard a Soyuz rocket from the Russian-operated central Asian spaceport at 2:10 a.m. on Sunday.

Note: You may be noticing that the live video screen-capture images are not showing up over the holiday weekend here. All of the KSC-based live video and web cams appear to be down for some reason. We hope they'll be restored after Christmas. For now, however, if you go ahead and click on the NASA TV links (at right), the NASA Television feed continues to operate properly. Thanks for your patience.
