Live in orbit: Left wing scan under way

After the inspection, astronauts stowed the shuttle robot arm.

After scanning the Discovery's right wing, astronauts moved on to check the nosecap for damage, using a sensitive camera on the shuttle robot arm. The left wing was being scanned at 1 p.m. EDT, and the scan was to be complete at about 2 p.m.

Discovery undocked at 5:32 a.m. EDT and flew a loop around the International Space Station.

The shuttle crew is preparing for a 1:02 p.m. EDT Wednesday landing at Kennedy Space Center.
