Live in orbit: Go for payload bay closing

Discovery received approval to compete a major milestone in the landing procedure about 9 a.m.

"We have some good news. You're 'Go' for payload bay door closing right on time," said capsule communicator Terry Virts.

The 9:19 a.m. door closing keeps Discovery on schedule for a 1:01 p.m. EST landing at Kennedy Space Center, where skies are clear and the wind is from the north providing a beneficial headwind for landing.
