Two hours into their excursion outside shuttle Atlantis and the International Space Station, spacewalkers Joe Tanner and Heidemarie Stefanyshyn-Piper are continuing to prep a newly installed outpost truss segment for orbital operations.
Piper is out on the end of the truss, putting two rectangular blanket boxes into position so that its solar wings can be unfurled on Thursday. Tanner is rigging up some more electrical umbilicals so that power can be routed to the truss.
The spacewalking work is running ahead of schedule.
