Uranus eclipse caught by Hubble


The Hubble Space Telescope has caught an unprecedented image of a moon crossing the face of Uranus and casting a shadow on the planet. An observer below would see this transit of Ariel as an eclipse. Such occurrences are rare at Uranus due to the planet's extreme tilt. In this image, the white dot is Ariel; the dark spot is the moon's shadow. Read more here.
